My Savior

On this page it is my privilege to introduce you to my Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Apart from Him, I would be utterly and completely lost, both in this life and in eternity. If you know Him, then you understand what I mean. If you don’t, I hope you will read this page and consider carefully your response to Him.

He is the Creator of all

The Bible declares that Jesus was there in the beginning with God. As part of the Holy Trinity, He fashioned the universe and called all things into being by His power. Because He is the Creator, all that He has made is subject to Him and owes Him honor and obedience. The crown of His creation is man, whom He created, male and female, after His own image.

He is the Redeemer of men

The Bible also tells us, and human history confirms, that mankind turned its collective back upon the Creator when our first parents, Adam and Eve, determined to forsake God’s authority and sought to become masters of their own destiny. When they disobeyed God’s commandments, they incurred the punishment of death, temporal and eternal. All of their descendants have inherited this curse of death and are born into this world “dead in trespasses and sins.” Yet God in His mercy determined to provide redemption for His people, and promised to send a Savior who would be “the seed of the woman.” This promise was the promise that one day, in the fullness of time, God would send His Son into the world to take away sin and restore fallen men to a right relationship with Himself. To accomplish this, it was necessary for the eternal Son of God to become flesh. So Jesus came into the world, by supernatural birth, and took a human nature upon Himself. He lived a life of perfect obedience to God’s commandments and suffered persecution, death, and the unmitigated wrath of God as a substitute for those who would believe in His name. “God made Him who knew no sin to BE sin for us, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.” No man can pay the cost to redeem his own soul from death. No amount of “good works” can tip the balance of divine justice and earn an individual the eternal reward of heaven. Jesus declared, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no man comes to the Father except through Me.” There is no other way. Those who humble themselves, repent of their sins, and embrace Jesus Christ and His sacrifice by faith are saved. Those who ignore and reject Him are eternally lost.

He is the King

After He was crucified as a substitutionary Lamb for the sins of His people, Jesus Christ rose from the dead and ascended to the right hand of God, where He reigns over all until every enemy is subdued beneath His feet. He sent His Holy Spirit to dwell in His people, to convict them of sin, to comfort and encourage them, to lead them into all truth, and to make them progressively holy. He speaks with authority through His perfect Word, which is contained in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, and is proclaimed by His ministers, whom He calls and equips to declare His truth. He sovereignly oversees and overrules all of the actions of all of His creatures, working all things for His ultimate glory. He shapes and molds and directs the affairs of men and nations, who will all one day give an account to Him for their deeds. He blesses His people through His Word and Spirit, directing and comforting them as they seek His face.

He is the Coming Judge

As the Creator, Redeemer, and Conquering King, Jesus Christ will one day return to judge the world. Every person who has ever lived will stand before Him to give an account for their deeds. Those who have trusted in Him and received His redemption by faith will be granted eternal life, not on the basis of what they have done, but on the basis of His perfect work on their behalf. Those who have rejected Him will be consigned to everlasting torment in Hell.

He is Calling You

If you have read this far, you are accountable for how you respond to this truth. Many want to regard Jesus as an important historical figure, the founder of one of the world’s great religions, a holy prophet who taught wonderful lessons, or an influential leader. Jesus claims to be far more than any of these things. He claims to be the Son of God and the only way of salvation. He says that whoever does not believe in Him will be condemned. You must either accept or reject Him – there is no middle road.

If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9)
